Teen charged in Tuscaloosa shooting that wounded 2, including 14-year-old

A teen has been charged in connection with a shooting that wounded two people, including a 14-year-old boy.

The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit on Monday announced the arrest of 18-year-old Cameron Chandler.

Chandler is charged with attempted murder, two counts of first-degree assault and second-degree receiving stolen property, said TVCU Capt. Jack Kennedy.

Chandler is being held without bond in the Tuscaloosa County Jail.

The shooting happened about 6:30 p.m. Oct. 21 in the 3100 block of 21st Street.

Details surrounding the incident have not been released.

The 14-year-old’s wounds were not life-threatening. A 45-year-old man sustained serious injuries.

Kennedy said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests or charges are possible.
