Publix at Cahaba Crossing will celebrate its grand opening on Wednesday.

Publix is the anchor tenant of Cahaba Crossing, a newly-built retail development located at the intersection of Grants Mill Road and Old Leeds Road in Irondale.

The new grocery store covers 48,387 square feet and features a pharmacy.

Martin Smith and Michael Byrne of SRS Real Estate Partners’ Birmingham office represent the landlord in the leasing of Cahaba Crossing.

Additional tenants opening soon include El Patron Mexican Restaurant, Trocadero Hair Salon, The UPS Store, Allure Nail Spa, AT&T and Heartland Dental. One 1,260 square foot space remains at the new development, according to the company.

Several Alabama cities will join those with a Publix grocery store within the next two years.

The Florida-based chain, which is one of the 10 largest-volume supermarket chains in the country, saw sales of $54.5 billion in 2022. The company currently has 88 stores in Alabama, according to its website.

Publix has opened more than 50 new stores throughout the Southeast since 2022
