5 things to know if you’re headed for the Greater Gulf State Fair

The weather might leave you a little uncertain as to whether fall ever really arrived, but here’s one sign that leaves no doubt: the Greater Gulf State Fair has opened for business.

The 69th edition of the fair, presented by the Mobile Jaycees, opened Friday at The Grounds in west Mobile, at the intersection of Cody Road and Ziegler Boulevard. It’s expected to draw well over 100,000 visitors over the course of its 10-day run, which ends on Sunday, Nov. 5.
