A woman and a man from Alabama were killed Thursday morning after the vehicles they were driving collided head-on in Greene County, authorities said.
Dana Freeman, 55, of Demopolis, was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban around 6:50 a.m. Thursday on U.S. 43 when the vehicle collided head on with a 2004 Chevrolet Express G3500 driven by 44-year-old Northport resident Joseph D. Lunceford, said Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Cpl. Reginal King.
Freeman and Lunceford were pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck near the 142-mile marker of U.S. 43, about four miles south of Forkland, in Greene County, said King.
