Girl, 15, charged with capital murder after 16-year-old boy shot in Montgomery dies

A 15-year-old girl was charged with capital murder and attempted murder after the 16-year-old boy who was critically wounded in Montgomery on Tuesday died of his injuries, police said Thursday.

Both the suspect and the victim’s names were not publicly released because of their ages. They are both from Montgomery.

The girl is being held in the Montgomery County Youth Detention Facility on charges of capital murder and attempted murder, said Maj. Saba Coleman with Montgomery police.

The victim, only identified as a 16-year-old boy, was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound in the 3500 block of Carter Hill Road around 10:50 a.m. Tuesday. He was taken to a local hospital for his wounds.

The boy died of his injuries Thursday, said Coleman.
