26-year-old seriously injured in Tuscaloosa shooting; 1 jailed

A 41-year-old man is charged with attempted murder in a weekend shooting in Cottondale.

Wiley Lee Sanders was taken into custody Monday morning, according to the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit.

The shooting happened about 2 p.m. Sunday at Cottondale Efficiency Apartments. The victim, 26, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, said TVCU Capt. Jack Kennedy.

An ongoing argument led to the gunfire, Kennedy said.

Sanders is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail.
