Tampa Bay cornerback Jamel Dean reached a career high with 10 tackles and recovered a fumble, but the Buccaneers dropped an NFC South game 16-13 to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Dean’s previous NFL best had been nine tackles in a 31-29 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 9, 2021.

Dean recovered a fumble at the Tampa Bay 16-yard line and made a 7-yard return on the next-to-last snap of the first half to keep the game tied at 10-10.

While the Buccaneers turned back Atlanta’s scoring bid in the closing seconds of the first half, Tampa Bay wasn’t as fortunate in the second half.

After the Bucs tied the score on a field goal with 45 seconds to play, Falcons QB Desmond Ridder connected with tight end Kyle Pitts on the 36-yard pass, and Younghoe Koo hit a 51-yard field goal as time ran out.

Dean was among the 14 former Auburn players who got on the field on the seventh Sunday of the NFL’s 104th season.

Two other former Auburn players were involved in the Atlanta-Tampa Bay game:

· Buccaneers linebacker K.J. Britt (Oxford) did not record any stats.

· Carlton Davis started at cornerback for the Buccaneers. Davis made three tackles.

· Ravens guard Tashawn Manning is on the practice squad and not eligible to play.

Chicago Bears 30, Las Vegas Raiders 12

· Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson missed his first attempt, going wide left on a 41-yard field goal. Carlson came back to connect on field goals on 40 and 25 yards.

· Raiders tight end John Samuel Shenker is on the practice squad and not eligible to play.

Cleveland Browns 39, Indianapolis Colts 38

· Colts offensive tackle Braden Smith was sidelined for a second straight game with hip and wrist injuries.

New England Patriots 29, Buffalo Bills 25

· Jonathan Jones started at cornerback for the Patriots. Jones made four tackles and registered one quarterback hit.

New York Giants 14, Washington Commanders 7

· Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton had a 22-yard reception and made a fair catch on a punt. Slayton’s reception moved New York into Washington territory on the Giants’ way to the game’s first touchdown.

Pittsburgh Steelers 24, Los Angeles Rams 17

· Montravius Adams started at nose tackle for the Steelers. Adams made four tackles and recorded one tackle for loss.

Seattle Seahawks 20, Arizona Cardinals 10

· Seahawks linebacker Derick Hall made two tackles on defense and one tackle on special teams.

· Cardinals inside linebacker Owen Pappoe made one tackle on special teams.

Denver Broncos 19, Green Bay Packers 17

· Packers kicker Anders Carlson was wide left on a 43-yard field-goal attempt with 41 seconds left in the first half. After the rookie’s first miss of the season, Carlson made a 29-yard field goal and two extra points.

· Rudy Ford (New Hope) started at safety for the Packers. Ford made seven tackles.

· Broncos quarterback Jarrett Stidham dressed for the game but did not play.

· Packers defensive tackle Colby Wooden made three tackles.

Kansas City Chiefs 31, Los Angeles Chargers 17

· Chargers long snapper Josh Harris handled the snaps for five punts, two extra points and one field goal.

· Chiefs offensive tackle Prince Tega Wanogho is on injured reserve and not eligible to play.

Philadelphia Eagles 31, Miami Dolphins 17

· Dolphins defensive tackle Byron Cowart is on the practice squad and not eligible to play.

· Eagles offensive lineman Jack Driscoll did not record any stats.

Week 7 started on Thursday night, when the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the New Orleans Saints 31-24.

Week 7 concludes on Monday, when the San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings square off at 7:15 p.m. CDT at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. ABC and ESPN will televise the game.
