After two weeks without an NFL fine, Denver Broncos safety Kareem Jackson returned to the list of league-identified transgressors with his largest fine yet.

Jackson has been fined $43,709 for a hit during the Broncos’ 19-8 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Oct. 12 that the league has judged as unnecessary roughness, the NFL announced on Saturday.

The NFL fined Jackson $14,819 in Week 1, $19,669 in Week 2 and $11,473 in Week 3 for hits delivered in Denver games. The former Alabama standout received unnecessary-roughness penalties for his first two objectionable plays and was ejected for the Week 2 hit. Jackson was not penalized in Week 3 before being fined.

Jackson’s Week 6 fine also was not preceded by a penalty during the game. The NFL cited a tackle by Jackson on Kansas City wide receiver Rashee Rice at the end of a 28-yard reception with 4:03 to play as the reason for the fine.

Four other players from Alabama high schools and colleges were fined by the NFL for actions in Week 6 games:

· Buffalo Bills cornerback Siran Neal (Eufaula, Jacksonville State) was fined $17,963 for unnecessary roughness. Neal was not penalized on the play cited by the NFL for the fine in the Bills’ 14-9 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday night.

· Baltimore Ravens nose tackle Michael Pierce (Daphne, Samford) was fined $16,391 for a hit on the quarterback. Pierce was penalized for roughing the passer in the Ravens’ 24-16 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday

· Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. (Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa, Alabama) was fined $6,370 for unnecessary roughness. Robinson was not penalized on the play cited by the NFL for the fine – a short pass that Robinson turned into a 24-yard touchdown in the Commanders’ 24-16 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.

· Cleveland Browns defensive end Za’Darius Smith (Greenville) was fined $10,927 for unnecessary roughness. Smith was fined for a face-mask penalty during the Browns’ 19-17 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
