3 Consecutive games for Auburn without the Tigers scoring more than 20 points. In Auburn’s last three games, the Tigers have lost to Texas A&M 27-10, Georgia 27-20 and LSU 48-18. The longest streak for Auburn in this century without reaching at least 21 points is four games.
4 SEC defensive backs formed the secondary on the AP midseason All-American team, which was released this week. The cornerbacks were Alabama’s Kool-Aid McKinstry and Missouri’s Kris Abrams-Draine, and the safeties were Georgia’s Malaki Starks and Auburn’s Jaylin Simpson.
5 Seasons were spent as the Ole Miss coach by Auburn coach Hugh Freeze. He led the Rebels from 2012 through 2016 and posted a 39-25 on-the-field record. NCAA sanctions later changed that mark to 10-25.

Since 2000, three Auburn running backs have had 200-yard games against Ole Miss – Ronnie Brown with 224 in 2002, Kamryn Pettway with 236 in 2016 and Kerryon Johnson with 204 in 2017. Auburn’s other 100-yard rushers against Ole Miss in the 2000s have been Rudi Johnson with 165 in 2000, Carnell “Cadillac” Williams with 103 yards in 2003, Brown with 100 in 2004, Kenny Irons with 101 in 2005 and 106 in 2006, Ben Tate with 144 with 2009, Michael Dyer with 180 in 2010 and 177 in 2011, Nick Marshall with 140 in 2013, Cameron Artis-Payne with 138 in 2014, JaTarvious “Boobee” Whitlow with 170 in 2018 and Tank Bigsby with 129 in 2020, 140 in 2021 and 179 in 2022. Auburn has had one individual 100-yard rushing game this season. Tigers QB Payton Thorne ran for 123 yards and two TDs on 11 carries in a 45-13 victory over Samford on Sept. 16.
28 Solo tackles for Auburn LB Eugene Asante, twice as many as any other Tigers defensive player this season. Asante also leads Auburn in total tackles with 47, 19 more than any of his teammates.
35 Victories for Auburn and 12 victories for Ole Miss in the Tigers-Rebels series. Ole Miss has five victories in 12 games against Auburn when playing as a ranked team. The Tigers also were ranked in three of those Rebels’ losses. Auburn leads the series 17-3 at home.
71 Years since Ole Miss scored consecutive victories over Auburn. The Rebels enter Saturday’s game after beating the Tigers 48-34 in last season’s meeting. Ole Miss had a three-game winning streak in the series by beating Auburn 40-7 in 1949 in Montgomery, 39-14 in 1951 in Mobile and 20-7 in 1952 in Memphis. Last year’s victory was the eighth for Ole Miss over Auburn since the 1952 win.
75 Years since an Auburn coach lost his first four conference games. In 1948, Earl Brown’s Tigers started the season with two non-conference games – a 20-14 victory over Southern Miss and a 13-13 tie with Louisiana Tech – then lost their remaining eight games – seven conference contests and setback against Clemson. Auburn has an 0-3 SEC record in 2023, its first season under Hugh Freeze, after falling to Texas A&M 27-10 on Sept. 23, Georgia 27-20 on Sept. 30 and LSU 48-18 on Oct. 14. Between Brown and Freeze, Ralph “Shug” Jordan, Doug Barfield, Pat Dye, Terry Bowden, Tommy Tuberville, Gene Chizik, Gus Malzahn and Bryan Harsin each won at least one of his first two league games at Auburn.
83 Points have been scored by Ole Miss and 20 points have been scored by Auburn in the first quarter this season. The Rebels are outscoring their opponents 83-31 in the first quarter, and the Tigers are being outscored by their opponents 33-20 in the first quarter.
135 Games have been played by Auburn since it was most recently shut out, the second-longest streak in school history. Auburn’s most recent shutout loss came 49-0 to Alabama on Nov. 17, 2012. Auburn’s record scoring streak lasted 149 games, starting with a 55-16 victory over Richmond on Oct. 4, 1980, and ending with a 17-0 loss to Alabama on Nov. 26, 1992. Auburn’s current scoring streak is the 10th-longest in SEC history, and its record streak is the ninth-longest.
