Britney Romero, Texas A&M freshman who fell to her death in dorm, remembered

Britney Romero, the Texas A&M freshman who fell to her sudden death Sunday from a third-floor balcony of her dorm in College Station, was remembered this week.

“I wanted to be her so bad,” younger sister, Ivana Romero told KHOU 11. “I dressed like her, I acted like her, I did my make-up like her,” Ivana said. “I listened to the same music as her.”

Erick Morales, a friend of Romero, said he spoke with her the night before she died.

“We were actually making plans to go to Texas State during Halloween, but it’s just sad that won’t be able to happen,” Morales said.

According to the report, friends started a fundraiser for Romero’s family to help with the funeral.

In a statement, Texas A&M Vice President for Student Affairs Joe E. Ramirez Jr. confirmed Romero’s death and offered his condolences.

“Our hearts ache for Britney’s family and friends,” Ramirez said. “They have our deepest sympathies and support as they navigate this devastating loss.”
