Terrell Owens hit by car after argument on basketball court

Former NFL star and Alabama native Terrell Owens was hit by a car Monday night after getting into an argument on a basketball court.

The Pro Football Hall of Famer did not require medical treatment, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Maria Navarro said Tuesday morning, per The Los Angeles Times.

According to authorities, an argument broke out between Owens and one other person. After the argument, Owens “was struck with a vehicle,” Navarro said.

TMZ reported that the driver was the man who had argued with Owens and that the car hit the Alexander City native in one of his knees.

The suspect is not in custody.

Owens was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 1996 draft and played for five teams during his 15-year career. Owens hasn’t played in the NFL since 2010.

Since his final NFL game on Dec. 19, 2010, Owens has entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame, played in the Arena Football League and Fan-Controlled Football and let it be known he thought he could still play in the NFL, too.
