Well, it was Fat Bear Week.

Last week, a hungry bear made his way into the Connecticut home of Helena Houlis, daughter of Ana Oliveira, owner of a Simsbury, Conn., restaurant, Ana’s Kitchen.

Multiple videos from Houlis’ Ring cameras and posted to Facebook show the bear wandering through her living room, into the kitchen and the leaving via her back deck.

Once it made its way into the kitchen, the bear managed to open the bottom freezer with its paws and then grabbed a frozen lasagna in its mouth before using the freezer to boost itself up and out a back window.

The lasagna, as it turns out, wasn’t your typical grocery store variety frozen lasagna — Houlis had brought it home from her mother’s restaurant.

“We just had the most unexpected kitchen guest! This bear, clearly a foodie, must’ve heard of Ana’s Kitchen lasagna,” Oliveira posted along with the videos. “The bear and I had a chat about food etiquette, and he promised not to break into any more kitchens. Crisis averted.”

Oliveira said the window through which the bear exited was the same it used to get in the home. The window was closed, but unlocked, she said, according to CT Insider. Amazingly, the bear did not damage Houlis’ home.

In the footage, the bear has a red tag attached to its right ear, meaning it’s being tracked by environmental protection officials in Connecticut.
