Birmingham police are on the scene of a shooting in east Birmingham.

The shooting happened about 10:30 a.m. in the 8600 block of West Boulevard. That location is near the Roebuck golf course.

According to police radio communications, the victim was shot in the neck.

Officer Truman Fitzgerald said the victim was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
