Quinnen Williams get first interception off Jalen Hurts

New York Jets defensive end Quinnen Williams got the first interception of his NFL career on Sunday, and it came at the expense of his former Alabama teammate Jalen Hurts.

The quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, Hurts was trying to connect with tight end Dallas Goedert in the second quarter of Sunday’s game, when his pass got knocked around and ended up in Williams’ hands.

Williams had a 6-yard return to the Philadelphia 45-yard line.

Williams’ first NFL interception came in his 63rd NFL game.

Hurts and Williams were teammates at Alabama in the 2016, 2017 and 2018 seasons, with the Crimson Tide winning the CFP national championship for the 2017 campaign.

A former Wenonah High School standout, Williams left Alabama as the third selection in the 2019 NFL Draft. Hurts transferred to Oklahoma and joined the Eagles in the second round of the 2020 draft.

Both players were Pro Bowl selections for the first time last season.
