Man and woman shot to death inside southwest Birmingham home

A man and woman were shot to death early Sunday inside a southwest Birmingham home.

Birmingham police identified the victims as Jacquic Little, 24, of Birmingham, and Damon Thomas, 28, of Fairfield.

Just before 2:30 a.m., the city’s gunfire detection system – Shot Spotter – alerted police to shots fired in the 1800 block of Fulton Avenue S.W.

While they were en route, West Precinct officers were notified that a man was shot, said Officer Truman Fitzgerald.

When they arrived at the home, police found Little and Thomas wounded inside. Both were pronounced dead on the scene.

Fitzgerald said details about what led up to the shooting are limited.

Little and Thomas are Birmingham’s 104th and 105th homicides this year. Of those, one was an officer involved shooting by an outside law enforcement agency and eight others have been ruled justifiable and therefore aren’t deemed criminal.

In all of Jefferson County, there have been 147 homicides, including the 105 in Birmingham.

Anyone with information in Sunday’s double slaying is asked to call detectives at 205-254-1764 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
