Oregon vs. Washington promises to be one of the best matchups of the 2023 season. The Huskies host the Ducks in Seattle, and Washington’s last loss at Husky Stadium came in 2021.

In 2022, Washington overcame a rowdy environment at Autzen Stadium to defeat the Ducks 37-34. Michael Penix had an unbelievable performance, throwing for 408 yards and two touchdowns. The QBs will be the players to watch in this one, as both Penix and Bo Nix rank top five in Pac-12 passing yards and touchdowns but have combined for only three interceptions.

The Ducks and Huskies each had byes in Week 6, providing ample time to rest and prepare for a Seattle slugfest.

Best Week 7 College Football games: No. 10 USC vs. No. 21 Notre Dame (-2.5)

Notre Dame is on the tail end of the most difficult four-game stretch any team will face in the 2023 season. The Irish kicked it off with a loss to No. 6 Ohio State, beat No. 17 Duke on the road, and fell short to No. 25 Louisville last week.

Notre Dame now welcomes USC to South Bend for a fourth-straight primetime showdown. Time will tell if playing consecutive high-intensity games in a short span takes a toll on the Irish.

USC’s inability to put away lesser opponents has caused a decline in its AP ranking. The Trojans ranked as high as No. 5 but have fallen to No. 10 after narrow victories over Colorado and Arizona.

Best Week 7 College Football games: No. 25 Miami vs. No. 12 North Carolina (-3)

Miami suffered a heartbreaking loss to Georgia Tech last week that falls on the shoulders of the Hurricanes’ coaching staff. With 33 seconds left in the game and Miami leading by three, the Canes opted to rush the ball rather than take a knee, resulting in a fumble recovery by the Yellow Jackets.

Georgia Tech then pieced together a four-play, 74-yard touchdown drive to gain a three-point lead, leaving two seconds on the clock. The loss leaves Miami with no margin for error the rest of the way to keep its ACC Championship and College Football Playoff hopes alive.

Meanwhile, North Carolina and Drake Maye have taken care of business in Chapel Hill. Other than a 6-point victory vs. Appalachian State, the Tar Heels have won each game by at least 14 points.

UNC got a massive boost last week when Tez Walker was declared eligible to play by the NCAA. Walker caught six passes for 43 yards in his first game and is expected to be Maye’s number-one target moving forward.

Best Week 7 College Football games: No. 18 UCLA vs. No. 15 Oregon State (-3.5)

Oregon vs. Washington isn’t the only Pac-12 clash to keep an eye on this weekend. UCLA and Oregon State feature top-tier defenses that rank top-five in the Pac-12 in points allowed per game.

Each squad has one loss and a second this early in the year would create slim odds to qualify for the Pac-12 Championship, making UCLA vs. Oregon State a pivotal matchup.

Damien Martinez has been unstoppable for the Beavers, rushing for a Pac-12-leading 589 yards. The Bruins also rely on their ground game, as UCLA’s 200 rushing yards per game ranks fourth in the conference.

Best Week 7 College Football games: Missouri vs. No. 24 Kentucky (-2.5)

Each team is hungry for a victory after losing in Week 6. Missouri fell short to No. 23 LSU 49-39, while Kentucky got a 38-point thumping from No. 1 Georgia.

Each offense can light up the scoreboard, as evidenced by their identical 33 points-per-game average. Kentucky allows 21 PPG, giving a slight edge to the Wildcats in this SEC East matchup.

Brady Cook is quietly having a superb season for Mizzou. Cook’s 1,879 passing yards are the fifth-most in FBS. Kentucky’s offense centers around Ray Davis, who has 653 rushing yards (ninth most in FBS) and eight touchdowns (fourth most in FBS).
