Authorities have released the name of a teen who was killed in a drive-by shooting in Hueytown.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the victim as Frederick Lamar Harvey III. He was 17 and lived in Hueytown.

Authorities said the shooting happened at 2:15 a.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of 27th Avenue.

Harvey was in the back seat of a vehicle when someone opened fire. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 2:26 a.m.

No arrests have been announced.

The teen is Hueytown’s second homicide this year.
