AL.com Top 25: Oklahoma and Texas put on a classic during a wild weekend.

This past weekend is what you call a “Not great!” Saturday.

Texas giving up a heartbreaking loss in a Red River classic to Oklahoma? Not great!

Notre Dame going missing on a Saturday night in Louisville, KY? Not great!

Then, you’ve got Miami….Not. Great.

So, a week into October and things are already getting weird just like I’d warned you all would happen. However, This coming week you have multiple showdowns that will not only impact the College Football Playoff, but division and conference races as well.

The highlight is, without question the showdown in the Pacific Northwest between the Big Ten-bound teams, Washington and Oregon. Since USC hasn’t been able to get a stranglehold on the Pac-12 like most has thought, this has the makings of a possible Pac-12 title game preview.

Before the Huskies and Ducks do battle in Seattle, what does the AL.com Top 25 look like this week?

No. 25 Wisconsin (4-1): Look, someone from the Big Ten West must be ranked, right?

No. 24 Colorado (4-2): Colorado played a ‘C-minus’ game on Saturday and still won, maybe Prime knows what he’s doing?

No. 23 Air Force (5-0): Air Force may be a couple of wins away from not only winning the Commander In-Chief’s trophy, but also winning the G5 bid into the New Year’s Six.

No. 22 Wyoming (5-1): The winner of this week’s Air Force-Wyoming showdown has a leg-up in the G5 bid for a NY6 bowl.

No. 21 Duke (4-1): Despite the loss to Notre Dame last week and QB Riley Leonard’s injury, everything Duke wants to accomplish is still in front of them.

No. 20 Oregon State (5-1): The next three games could determine how the Beavers sit in the Pac-12 race: vs. UCLA, at Arizona, at Colorado. That’s the good stuff right there.

No. 19 LSU (4-2): No matter the coach, no matter the situation, LSU just loves a nice 60-minute chaotic ride.

No. 18 UCLA (4-1): This week’s showdown with Oregon State feels like an early Pac-12 title eliminator.

No. 17 Notre Dame (4-2): Playoff hopes? Gone. NY6 chances? Fading. Notre Dame’s offense? On a milk carton.

No. 16 Tennessee (4-1): The most important stretch of the season lies ahead for the Vols, games against Texas A&M, Alabama, and Kentucky. Get your popcorn ready.

No. 15 North Carolina (5-0): Tez Walker is back for the Tar Heels and despite the Miami game losing a bit of buzz, this week’s game with the Hurricanes should be a good one.

No. 14 Utah (4-1): The most dangerous thing the Pac-12 doesn’t want to think about right now? A lurking Utah squad.

No. 13 Ole Miss (5-1): No Ole Miss let-down following their upset of LSU a week ago. Up next? A trip to Auburn. I expect a completely normal and standard football game.

No. 12 Louisville (6-0): I was a bit skeptical of Louisville heading into the Notre Dame game, but this team might’ve thrust themselves into the ACC race, but also a playoff sleeper.

No. 11 Alabama (5-1): A tremendous Road win at Texas A&M on Saturday, a game like that can be the spark a one-loss team needs to go on a season-defining run.

No. 10 Texas (5-1): Despite the loss, Texas is still one of the two best teams in the Big 12.

No. 9 Oklahoma (6-0): Oklahoma is the other one, and don’t be shocked if this rematch is set in the Big 12 title game sooner rather than later.

No. 8 USC (5-0): No, USC can’t keep getting away with snatching victory from the jaws of defeat, only to hand it back…only to snatch it again. Yet, they keep getting away with it.

No. 7 Oregon (5-0): Perhaps the biggest Oregon-Washington game in a generation? The Pac-12 title, the Heisman race, and the CFP will all be changed at the final whistle.

No. 6 Penn State (5-0): In all offense to UMass, this week’s opponent, but let’s just fast forward to Oct. 21, Penn State at Ohio State.

No. 5 Ohio State (5-0): I don’t think Purdue offers much resistance, but I really hope Ohio State doesn’t look ahead to Penn State.

No. 4 Washington (5-0): Washington’s toughest test of the season lies ahead, even with a win, there’s still possibly even bigger challenges ahead.

No. 3 Florida State (5-0): The ACC seems to be opening up for Florida State, will they take advantage?

No. 2 Michigan (5-0): For the sixth straight week, Michigan showed they’re the best team in America, not named Georgia.

No. 1 Georgia (5-0): For the sixth-straight week, Georgia showed that they’re the best team in America.
