Ole Miss fined for storming field; Video shows security guard hits girl, LSU player decks fan
The SEC announced Sunday that Ole Miss has been fined $100,000 for a violation of the league’s access to competition area policy after fans stormed the field following a 55-49 win against LSU on Saturday.
It was a track meet in Oxford as the Rebels set a team record in an SEC game with 711 yards. The two teams combined for 1,343 yards of total offense, 14 touchdowns, two late lead changes and strong individual performances from both quarterbacks. The 1,343 yards is third most total yards in SEC history.
As fans flooded the field, both a security guard and an LSU player grabbed headlines for hitting fans.
The security guard, as you can see, played as much defense as well as the two teams, but video caught him hitting a female student who was running on the field.
Meanwhile, an overzealous Ole Miss fan got more than he bargained while celebrating on the field at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. He appears to be knocked to the ground by an LSU player for some of the words he used.

The player appears to have been defensive lineman Jacobian Guillory. Later in the video, Guillory appeared to be restrained by an LSU official.
The SEC policy states that “institutions shall limit access to competition areas to participating student-athletes, coaches, officials, support personnel and properly credentialed or authorized individuals at all times. For the safety of participants and spectators alike, at no time before, during or after a contest may spectators enter the competition area.”
Financial penalties are imposed for violations in all sports sponsored by the Conference. Institutional penalties range from $100,000 for a first offense, $250,000 for a second offense and $500,000 for a third and subsequent offenses.
