There were a lot of significant local stories last week in the Mobile area. Here are five you might have missed if you didn’t read the Lede:

· In our Sunday Q&A (today) Kim Garrett, director of Victory Health Partners talked about expanding to meet the changing needs of the coastal community.

· The Lede’s Margaret Kates reported how a Mobile business wanted to honor native son Hank Aaron with a mural, but the city put a stop to it.

· Kates also reported how residents near a Mobile waterway want the state to establish no wake zones after a fatal boating accident on Halls Mill Creek.

· Did you get in on the Lede College Football Picks contest? It’s every Friday!

· And in her continuing look at how the recent annexation will change Mobile, Kates reported on the five biggest things you need to know about how police service will evolve in the city.
