Georgia’s Kirby Smart asked at halftime, ‘How Auburn has ‘rattled your team?’

No. 1 Georgia trailed 10-0 before rally to tie the game heading into halftime at Auburn’s Jordan Hare Stadium.

During his CBS halftime interview with Jenny Dell, Kirby Smart was asked, “How has Auburn managed to rattle your team?”

“I wouldn’t say they rattled us,” Smart said. “I think we have great composure. It’s a great environment for college football, but I don’t think our team is rattled. I just think we have to play better.”

Quarterback Carson Beck is 7 of 13 for 77 yards with one interception. Smart said the Bulldogs had to settle down his quarterback.

“He’s hit a couple of shots that we missed, and he’s had a couple of overthrows,” he said. “We have to settle him down. He’s juiced early in the game. I love his composure, though. He’s made some good decisions with the ball.”

Prior to the game, Smart talked about blocking out the noise and focusing on the task at hand inside Jordan-Hare Stadium,

“I want to see some resiliency,” he said before the game. “I want to see playing in a tough environment. I want to see them lean on each other.”
