5 Alabama celebrities who sparkled in the ballroom on ‘Dancing with the Stars’

“Dancing with the Stars” launched a new season this week and an Alabama contender immediately became the front-runner. Charity Lawson, a “Bachelorette” star and Auburn University graduate, made a stellar debut on the ABC reality series, partnering with Artem Chigvintsev. The two received lavish kudos from the judges for their elegant tango routine, and earned the top score of the evening.

Some of us are ready to give Lawson the Mirrorball Trophy right now — well, almost — and we find ourselves primed for her next performance. She’s following in the footsteps of five celebrities from Alabama who’ve distinguished themselves on “Dancing with the Stars” in previous seasons. Let’s take a closer look.

Hannah Brown and Alan Bersten celebrated their win on Season 28 of “Dancing with the Stars.” The season finale of the ABC reality series aired on Nov. 25, 2019.ABC/Eric McCandless
