Therman Deon Moore completed just nine passes against Fairfield on Friday, but he made the most of his chances at Clements Field in Fairfield.

Moore threw four touchdown passes – 43 yards Jerimiah Jackson, 6 yards to Antonio Garfield, 16 yards to Terence Tubbs and 64 yards to Jaquoryae Busby – to lead the Eagle (4-2) to a 42-20 victory over Fairfield (1-5). He finished 9-of-12 passing for 181 yards and added a 46-yard touchdown run.

Center Point led 34-0 early in the third quarter, before Fairfield’s Justin Murray scored on touchdown runs of 10 and 6 yards in the fourth quarter. Murray finished with 77 yards on 18 carries.

Did you know?: The victory ended a two-game losing skid for Center Point, which fell to Pell City and Clay-Chalkville.

Playoff push: Center Point probably needs victories over Shades VAlley and Pinson Valley – the next two opponents – to earn a playoff bid.

What’s next?: The Eagles return home to play Shades Valley next week, while Fairfield hosts Carver-Birmingham.
