1 injured in midday Tarrant shooting; suspect captured after police chase
A midday shooting in Tarrant left one man injured and another in custody.
The shooting happened about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday on Maple Street.
Police Chief Wendell Major said the victim was taken to the hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, led Tarrant police on a chase before he was taken into custody in Birmingham.
The chief said the suspect has outstanding warrants with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear in court on a previous charge.
The investigation is ongoing.
