Lane Kiffin and Pete Golding return to Tuscaloosa to lead No. 15 Ole Miss against No. 13 Alabama on Saturday. That’s something to consider, according to Kirk Herbstreit.

ESPN’s “College GameDay” was anything but unanimous on the SEC West showdown.

“Big Lane Kiffin fan,” Pat McAfee said. “Love what he is doing down there. They take shots, too. Most explosives, and Alabama gave up a bunch of explosives against Texas. Certainly alarming. I think the (Jalen) Milroe benching, inspiration re-work. I think (Alabama coach Nick) Saban has the boys playing. Give me Alabama.”

Celebrity picker Vince Vaughn, rocking his Notre Dame jacket, agreed.

“I’m in the same boat,” he said. “I’m a big fan of Kiffin. I think he does a great job offensively, but (Alabama offensive coordinator and former Notre Dame OC) Tommy Rees shows up this week. The offense starts to play, and I think Bama rolls.”

Not so fast, my friend.

“With long runs and passes, Ole Miss upsets Alabama,” Corso declared.

“I’m going Ole Miss big,” Desmond Howard added.

Herbstreit says it’s Milroe’s legs that make the difference.

“There’s always a lot of talk about Lane Kiffin coming back and having a chance to go up against his former coach. Pete Golding, the defensive coordinator at Ole Miss, was Alabama’s defensive coordinator last year. How much does that impact the game? I think Jalen Milroe winds up being the hero today, running the football to set up some shots down the field. I like Alabama.”
