Suspect jailed on attempted murder charge now facing Montgomery murder rap

A Montgomery man jailed on attempted murder and other charges has been charged with murder in an unrelated shooting last week that left a 21-year-old man dead and injured two other people, police said Tuesday.

Deandre Lucas, 20, of Montgomery, was identified as a suspect in the death of 21-year-old Montgomery resident Ethan McCall, who was shot Sept. 12 and died the following day at the hospital, said Maj. Saba Coleman.

Two other people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting in the 3300 block of Fairground Road.

Lucas was already in the Montgomery County jail when he was served a murder warrant Tuesday. He was being held in the lockup on five counts of attempted murder, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, first-degree assault and first-degree assault, said Coleman.

Lucas remains in the jail without bond.
