Gisele Bündchen: Divorcing Tom Brady is ‘very tough on my family’

Nearly a year after her well-publicized divorce from Tom Brady, Gisele Bündchen is opening up about the difficulties of going through the separation.

Brady and Bündchen ended their 13-year marriage in October of 2022 after rumblings of discord in their relationship.

On Monday, People published an interview with the 43-year-old Brazilian supermodel where she disclosed the difficulties she’s faced over the past year, with the publication reporting that she has also been “privately dealing with two ailing parents.”

“It’s been very tough on my family. It’s been a lot — in every area of my life,” Bündchen said to People. “I feel like whenever it rains, it pours. With all the different twists and turns that life takes, all we can do is the best we can given what happens in our surroundings.”

Bündchen had been living with Brady in Brookline during the former quarterback’s time with the New England Patriots. After Brady joined the Buccaneers, she then followed him to Tampa Bay. Now, she tells people that she’s living in Miami, where the couple’s children are now enrolled in school after being home-schooled during the pandemic.

Back in October, Brady and Bündchen both said that they ended their marriage “amicably” after 13 years together.

Four months after, Brady officially announced his second (and seemingly final) retirement from the NFL.

The former Patriots quarterback has now transitioned into sports ownership, as well as various other business ventures. Brady is currently pursuing a minority ownership of the Las Vegas Raiders in addition to his partial ownership of English soccer club Birmingham City.
