A woman died following a head-on crash on Birmingham’s east side.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the fatality victim as Anita Lovoy Rickets. She was 74 and lived in Birmingham.

The wreck happened at 1:13 p.m. Monday in the 7400 block of Crestwood Boulevard.

Ricketts was taken to UAB Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 1:54 p.m.

Additional details surrounding the crash weren’t immediately available.

Birmingham police are investigating.
