Jason Dufner’s fabulous Auburn estate on sale for $7.2 million: Take a look inside

Pro golfer Jason Dufner, a former PGA champ and Auburn University graduate, has listed his Auburn estate for sale, with an asking price of $7.2 million.

The property sits on 48.5 acres and includes an eight-bedroom, 11-bathroom house that covers more than 16,000 square feet, according to Zillow. The house, designed by Brian Wofford and built in 2015, includes an in-home movie theater, a game room, a bar, a fitness center and more. There’s an in-ground pool, a pool house with a kitchen and two bathrooms, a fire pit area and five garage spaces.

The property also boasts two lakes, one of which can be used for fishing, according to a report by Mansion Global.

“It’s been a great experience living on this property for eight years,” Dufner, 46, said in an email statement. “I have everything I need in one spot, allowing me to enjoy the peace and quiet of 50 acres while still being close enough to engage in all the amenities and conveniences the Auburn community has to offer.”

A specific address for Dufner’s property hasn’t been revealed, but the listing agent is Ryan Roberts of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, according to Zillow.

Dufner, an Ohio native, graduated from Auburn University in 2000 with a degree in economics. He played for the school’s golf team, winning three times during his college career and becoming an Honorable Mention All-American in 1997. Dufner went pro soon after graduation, and has five PGA tour wins to date. He won the PGA Championship in 2013 and has earned more than $28 million in prize money, according to the PGA Tour website.

Dufner’s also the founder of the Jason Dufner Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Auburn that works to combat childhood hunger in Lee County.

Dufner’s Auburn estate “fuses luxury, resort-level living, innovative craftsmanship and functionality, with a lifestyle approach to design that incorporates every aspect of daily living from sun-up to sun-down,” a press release says. “In essence, this home and property allows for any and all of the owner’s daily activities to be conveniently accomplished within its own private gates, which was a major factor in Jason’s initial vision.

“Designed by renowned interior designer Brian Wofford, every interior detail exudes sophistication. Upon entering the grand double doors, a symmetrical staircase welcomes you into a bright and spacious home where the main level boasts a chef’s kitchen with Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, two breakfast rooms, a guest suite, and two office spaces that opens out to an entertainer’s haven in the backyard.

“On the same level, the master suite is a sanctuary with a dual-sided shower, deep soaker tub and a separate sitting room, also connected to the covered back patio. Upstairs, you’ll find secondary suites, an in-law suite, and a versatile den space, all adorned with marble details. The lower level features an in-home movie theater, game room, full bar and fully equipped fitness center.

“Beyond the home itself, a custom, resort-style pool beckons for relaxation just beyond the oversized, covered back patio,” the press release continues. “The pool house offers convenience with two bathrooms and an outdoor kitchen, perfect for refined alfresco dining. Nearby, the fire pit area radiates warmth, setting the stage for gatherings of all kinds. For car enthusiasts, there’s ample garage space, including two attached to the house and three more separated by a porte-cochere, complete with a well-designed workspace. This estate is an unparalleled testament to refined living, offering luxury, serenity and cutting-edge functionality.”

It’s unclear why Dufner has decided to sell the estate, and he declined comment through a publicist. Dufner previously lived in a smaller home in Auburn, according to realtor.com, and put that four-bedroom property on the market in 2016.
