Birmingham Business Alliance to host economic development summit in November

The Birmingham Business Alliance (BBA) will host its inaugural Regional Economic Development Summit on Thursday, Nov. 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The event will take place at the renovated Greyhound Bus Station in downtown Birmingham.

Organizers say the event will assemble economic developers, business leaders, government officials, chamber executives and community leaders for discussions and strategy sessions dealing with the future of economic development in the Greater Birmingham Region.

A luncheon will feature a keynote address by Alabama Secretary of Commerce Greg Canfield.

“Economic development isn’t just about numbers, it’s about people working together,” BBA CEO Steve Ammons said. “Collective effort can change communities. Our hope is that this event unites our partners and serves as the catalyst to further collaboration and cooperation across the Greater Birmingham Region.”

Session content will include information on site selection, land planning, retail and industrial development, marketing strategies and other topics.
