Watch animated Nick Saban angry with officials after Alabama lightning delay
Alabama coach Nick Saban wasn’t happy Saturday when he was returning to the field after a lightning delay in Tampa.
The Tide was trailing USF 3-0 when the game was called for more than an hour due to lightning.
The Tide had a miserable first quarter before the weather intervened. South Florida has more first down (4-3) and more total yards (66-53).
Alabama’s new starting quarterback Tyler Buchner got off to a rough start and was 4 of 10 passing for 25 yards. The Bulls converted a 44-yard field goal with 7:08 left in the first quarter. The Tide was just 1-for-5 on 3rd downs and had a lost fumble early in the game.

Buchner, who got the start Saturday, replaced Jalen Milroe after Milroe had a pair of interceptions last week in the loss to Texas.
During the weather delay, SEC Network analyst Booger McFarland proclaimed, “Alabama doesn’t have a quarterback.” He posted “X,” the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, before explaining his reason.
