Live updates as Tyler Buchner leads No. 10 Alabama against USF: Score, anaylsis
Alabama will play its first road game of the 2023 season on Saturday afternoon and return to a familiar location.
The No. 10 Crimson Tide is in Raymond James Stadium for Week 3 against South Florida. The last time Nick Saban led a team into Tampa was the 2016 national championship game, a thrilling battle it lost to Clemson.
An otherwise one-sided non-conference, non-power conference game for the Tide, at least on paper, got an interesting twist on Friday when reports came out that there would be a new starting quarterback. Instead of Jalen Milroe, it’ll be Notre Dame transfer Tyler Buchner leading the offense. Buchner made his last in the 2022 Gator Bowl, helping ND past South Carolina, 45-38, with five touchdowns and two pick-sixes.
Follow along for live updates once the game kicks off at 2:30 CST on ABC.

–A pair of Alabama defenders appear to be inactive today. DeVonta Smith, who’d been out, wasn’t warming up with the team. Neither was second-year defensive lineman Jaheim Oatis, who was spotted in a walking boot.
