Another Alabama license plate is getting a redesign
Alabama’s National Guard license plate is getting a new look.
The redesigned plates will be available for issuance beginning Oct. 1, according to the Alabama Department of Revenue. National Guard, National Guard Retired and National Guard Low Number are included.
National Guard plates will have the guard’s emblem on the left-hand side, except for personalized plates where the emblem is removed to accommodate seven characters. Documentation of guard membership is required and there is a $50 fee if the purchaser wants to personalize the plate.
In August, ADOR announced the release of four new university license plates: Samford University, the University of Montevallo, The University of North Alabama and the University of West Alabama.
