Who is the Week 3 Cunningham Bounds Coastal Player of the Week?

Millry quarterback Daylon Edmunds ran away with the Cunningham Bounds Coastal football Player of the Week voting in Week 3, just like the Wildcats did in their rout of Southern Choctaw.

Edmunds got 57 percent – 4,681 – of the 8,242 votes cast in the poll to earn the honors. The junior threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more in the 54-0 Class 1A, Region 1 opener as No. 6 Millry improved to 2-1.

The QB was 10-for-15 for 169 yards and scored on runs of 7 and 2 yards.

Carlos Benjamin Jr. of Vigor was second in the balloting after running for 198 yards and four touchdowns as the Wolves rallied past Citronelle in overtime. He had a 99-yard TD dash in the 34-28 home win.

Anthony Hayes Jr. of Excel finished third in the voting. The junior, who started the past 12 games as an offensive lineman, rushed for 226 yards on 18 carries and scored three times as the Panthers opened Class 3A, Region 1 play with a 28-26 home win over Cottage Hill Christian.

Voting for the Cunningham Bounds Coastal Alabama Football Player of the Week opens on Sundays during the season and runs through Wednesday. Nominees are determined from statistics submitted by coaches or official team statisticians before noon each Saturday.

In Week 3, more than 34,000 votes were cast across the three AL.com player of the week polls.
