A driver was killed Tuesday night on Interstate 10 in Mobile following a collision with an Alabama Department of Transportation truck.

Mobile police said the incident happened at about 8:37 p.m. on I-10 westbound at U.S. 90.

An ALDOT vehicle had been positioned in the middle lane to place traffic cones, as the roadway was being closed due to an earlier accident.

The driver of another vehicle collided with the rear of the ALDOT truck.

The driver of the vehicle, a 43-year-old man, died from his injuries. His name has not yet been released.

The incident is currently under investigation.
