Georgia man ID’d as gunman who killed self, wounded woman in Mobile

A Georgia man was identified Tuesday as the gunman who critically wounded a woman before fatally shooting himself during a domestic dispute last week in Mobile, police said.

Patrick Johnson, 33, of Hinesville, Georgia, was found dead at Sandpiper Townhomes at 4950 Government Blvd. around 1:16 p.m. Sept. 4.

At the scene, officers found a woman with life-threatening gunshot wounds. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

At the time of the Labor Day incident, police said Johnson appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police characterized the incident as a domestic dispute.
