Motorcyclist dies in single-vehicle wreck near Mobile, authorities say

A motorcyclist was killed Monday night when his motorcycle left he road and hit two street signs near Mobile, authorities said Tuesday.

Jeremy J. Johnson, 44, of Irvington, was riding a 2001 Suzuki motorcycle around 7 p.m. Sunday when the wreck occurred on Alabama Highway 188 near the three-mile marker, about 10 miles west of Mobile, said Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Senior Trooper Anna Peoples.

Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene, Peoples said.

Further information was unavailable as state troopers continued to investigate the wreck.
