AL.com Power 25 HS Rankings: Who is the new No. 1 team?

There’s a new No. 1 team this week in the AL.com Power 25 high school football rankings, but not by much.

Reigning Class 6A champion Saraland moved into the top spot this week after defeating St. Paul’s 47-3. Four-time reigning 7A champ Thompson fell one spot to No. 2 despite a 21-3 win over Vestavia Hills.

Three total points separate the top three teams in this week’s poll with Saraland garnering 97 points, Thompson 96 and Central-Phenix City 95. Thompson and Saraland each received two first-place votes.
