Texas’ Steve Sarkisian’s 2 keys against Alabama, can’t throw jabs, must throw ‘haymakers’

Steve Sarkisian respects everything about the University of Alabama, even as Crimson Tide fans booed his appearance on ESPN’s “College GameDay” on Saturday, leading up to No. 3 Alabama vs. No. 11 Texas.

The former Alabama offensive coordinator stressed two points when asked about his team’s chances in Tuscaloosa.

“We have to make sure we have energy,” he said. “Our juice is right.”

The other, he said, is his Longhorns can’t be emotional.

”When that happens you start making poor choices and decisions. We want to be aggressive. We know this will be a physical ball game. We want to attack them in all three phases of the game.

“We can’t throw jabs. We have to step to the middle of the ring and throw haymakers.”

Sarkisian also pointed to his respect for Nick Saban, the Crimson Tide program and the university.
