Steve Sarkisian reacts to Alabama fans booing during âGameDay,â says Horns respect – donât fear – Tide
Alabama fans let Steve Sarkisian know where he stands with the Crimson Tide Nation on Saturday, just hours before the No. 3 Tide hosts his No. 11 Texas Longhorns. The game will be live streamed on fuboTV (free trial), DirecTV Stream (free trial) and SlingTV (half off first month).
Sarkisian joined ESPN’s “College GameDay” from a remote location, and Pat McAfee let the former Alabama offensive coordinator know just how the fans felt.
”We won a lot of games together,” Sarkisian said. “I don’t understand.”
In January 2019, Alabama re-hired Sarkisian, who had been an analyst, as the offensive coordinator. In 2020, Sarkisian served as interim head coach for Alabama’s 42–13 victory over Auburn after Nick Saban had to be quarantined due to COVID-19 protocols. At Alabama, Sarkisian coached quarterbacks Mac Jones and Tua Tagovailoa. He won the Broyles Award, given to the nation’s top coaching assistant, for his coaching during the 2020 season.
“We respect the University of Alabama,” Sarkisian said. “You know how I feel about coach Saban and the job he’s done there.
“But we don’t fear them. We Can’t fear anybody. We respect all. Fear none. That’s the mindset.”
