CFB Week 1 brought some exciting games but featured many blowouts in highly-anticipated matchups. The action ramps up in Week 2 with a slate that figures to be far more captivating.

Among the wall-to-wall schedule, five games stand out with more potential than the rest to be all-timers. We highlight them below, and you can wager on each game with our list of exclusive sportsbook promo codes worth up to $3,615 in bonuses for new users:

Best Week 2 CFB games: No. 11 Texas vs. No. 3 Alabama (-7.5)

These teams met last season in a non-conference matchup for the ages. The Longhorns kept pace with the Crimson Tide until Quinn Ewers’ day ended early due to injury.

With 1:24 left in the game and Alabama trailing by two, Bryce Young led a nine-play, 61-yard drive that resulted in a game-winning field goal. With only 10 seconds on the clock, the Longhorns had no chance to get in field goal range, losing 20-19 in Austin.

This year, Alabama has home-field advantage, with leading oddsmakers listing the Tide as favorites heading into Saturday’s matchup. Alabama is fresh off a 56-7 thumping of Middle Tennessee, aided by three passing touchdowns and two rushing scores from Jalen Milroe.

Texas thumped Rice 37-10 in Week 1, and Ewers led the way with 260 yards and three touchdowns. The Longhorns combined for 158 rushing yards, while the Owls gained only 176 yards of total offense.

Time will tell if Texas can overcome a hostile environment at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Top CFB Week 2 matchups: No. 23 Texas A&M (-4.5) vs. Miami

Miami crushed Miami (OH) 38-3 in Week 1. The U leaned on its rushing attack a lot in 2022, and the same was true last week, as the Hurricanes gained 250 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

Last season’s Hurricanes run defense was porous, allowing 142 yards per game. But Miami stood tall against the RedHawks, giving up just 51 rushing yards. However, the U faces a stern test this week against a power-five opponent.

Lost in the shuffle of many dominant Week 1 passing performances was Texas A&M’s Conner Weigman, completing 78% of his passes for 236 yards and five touchdowns. The Aggies routed New Mexico 52-10.

A Week 2 win would land Miami in the AP Top 25, while a Texas A&M victory would solidify the Aggies as a contender to win the SEC West.

Week 2 CFB games to watch: Nebraska vs. No. 22 Colorado (-3)

Colorado had the upset of Week 1, defeating National Championship runner-up and No. 17 TCU 45-42 in Fort Worth. Head coach Deion Sanders’ son, Shedeur Sanders, broke Colorado’s single-game passing yards record, throwing for 510 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions.

The Horned Frogs soiled multiple red-zone opportunities that ultimately led to its demise. Colorado CB/WR Travis Hunter was stellar, tallying one interception and 119 receiving yards.

We’ll see if the Buffaloes are legitimate contenders in Week 2 when Nebraska comes to town. The Cornhuskers had a 13-10 Week 1 setback vs. Minnesota.

Nebraska will challenge Colorado’s offense far more than TCU, as the Cornhuskers allowed only 196 passing yards on 54% passing from Minnesota QB Athan Kaliakmanis. But Nebraska will have its hands full vs. Shedeur and Co.

CFB Week 2 betting odds: No. 20 Ole Miss (-7.5) vs. No. 24 Tulane

Following a 12-2 record last season, Tulane landed a spot in the AP preseason poll for the first time since 1998. The Green Wave proved they could hang with the big dogs, beating Kansas State, Cincinnati, UCF, and USC.

Tulane started 2023 on a high note, beating South Alabama 37-13. Michael Pratt’s 294 passing yards and four touchdowns, combined with five Green Wave sacks and two interceptions, were a recipe for success.

But a far more formidable test is upcoming with Ole Miss. The Rebels had one of the most dominant Week 1 showings, trouncing Mercer 73-7.

Ole Miss QBs Jaxson Dart and Spencer Sanders combined for 468 yards and six touchdowns, and Heisman-hopeful Quinshon Judkins rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns.

Tulane will need a top-notch performance to knock off Ole Miss, and hosting the game at Yulman Stadium will be a significant factor for the Green Wave.

Week 2 CFB betting markets: No. 13 Oregon (-6.5) vs. Texas Tech

Texas Tech was on the wrong side of an upset in Week 1 vs. Wyoming. The Red Raiders jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter but blew its three-possession advantage in a 35-33 double-overtime loss in Laramie.

Things don’t get easier in Week 2, but Texas Tech has the advantage of hosting Oregon at Jones AT&T Stadium.

The Ducks were all over Portland State in Week 1, beating the FCS school 81-7. Bo Nix completed 85% of his passes for 287 yards and three touchdowns. Bucky Irving had only four carries but made the most of his limited snaps, rushing for 119 yards and two scores, good for 29 yards per touch.

Troy Franklin and Gary Bryant combined for 206 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

Oregon has an excellent shot at capturing an early-year statement victory, while Texas Tech has its backs against the wall after just one game.
