Travel influencer Magnolia Megan raves about Tuscaloosa restaurants

Tuscaloosa’s restaurant scene keeps getting bigger and better, and foodies are taking notice.

Megan Nicole Pintell, also known as “Magnolia Megan” across several social media platforms, has nearly 130,000 followers on Instagram where she recently posted her travels through Tuscaloosa where she embarked on an epic food journey.

This dispatch (which appears to be in partnership with the city’s tourism bureau Visit Tuscaloosa) comes at the perfect time, too, with another football season underway. Residents should give these a shot regardless, but those of you traveling to T-Town this fall now have a solid checklist to cover for every home game.

“Alabama is known for their college football BUT did you also know they have amazing food as well?!” she wrote in the caption.[Tuscaloosa] is the spot to visit for some great food & heres everything you need to know when visiting! Now you can enjoy college football AND great food.”

Pintell is a digital creator who specializes in lifestyle, travel and fashion content, often highlighting restaurant stops via vlogs and short video formats like Instagram reels. “Your guide to North Carolina & beyond✈️travel guides, road trips, restaurants, & stays,” her Instagram bio says.

Set against the musical backdrop of country band Restless Road’s song “Roll Tide Roll,” Magnolia Megan’s montage highlights several vibrant meals at a slew of restaurants in the Druid City. Wearing cutoff jean shorts and tall white boots, she also makes obligatory stops at landmarks like Denny Chimes.

Her caption highlights the spots she featured and her recommendations for each including new joints like Jalapeños Downtown (”you have to try their gumbo”), The 205 (”a great open space patio with a full bar and delicious burgers!”), The Standard Pizza (”massive slices and even bigger margaritas!”) and Homewood Bagel Co (”delicious bagels that they make in house and coffee drinks”).

Other popular and newish picks included Southern Ale House (”you have to try their bread pudding and cheesecake!”), Forte’ Cuts & Cocktails (”located in Nick Saban’s hotel, The Alamite”) and Moonshot Creamery (”a cute small batch ice cream shop”).

She also hit some traditional heavy-hitters like The Waysider (”a classic spot with Alabama football memorabilia & known for their biscuits and gravy”) and River (”enjoy brunch along the river with a view”).

Magnolia Megan also shouted out Monarch Espresso Bar, Heritage House Coffee and The Peach Cobbler Factory.
