Ex-NFL star Mike Williams dead at 36 after construction site accident
Mike Williams, a former NFL receiver, is dead at the age of 36.
The former Tampa Bay Buccaneer and Buffalo Bill died of a “massive head injury” as a result of a construction site accident.
According to a GoFundMe page, a steel beam fell on Williams, causing “complete paralysis in his right arm as well as his lower body from the waist down.”
Spectrum News 1 reported Monday that Williams died after his condition, per the family, worsened in the days following the accident.
Williams, a fourth-round pick out of Syracuse in 2010, debuted in the NFL with 964 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns in his rookie year. After four seasons with Tampa Bay, he played for the Buffalo Bills in 2014.
