High-profile Auburn, Alabama QB target transferring schools
High-profile junior quarterback Deuce Knight has left Lipscomb (Tenn.) Academy after just three games.
Knight, who holds offers from both Alabama and Auburn, informed Lipscomb coach Kevin Mawae this week that he was leaving the program.
Mawae confirmed the news to the Tennessean late Tuesday night.
“It had nothing to do with football,” Mawae told the paper. “It had everything to do with him wanting to be with his family.”
Multiple media outlets, including WLOX, have reported Knight is transferring back to George County, Miss.
The 6-foot-4.5, 195-pound junior is a 4-star prospect who is ranked as the No. 2 player in his class in the state of Mississippi, according to the 247 composite rankings.
His college offers already include Auburn, Alabama, Notre Dame, Ole Miss and Tennessee.
