Family sought for 2 men who died in Birmingham in recent weeks
Authorities are trying to find family members of two men who died in Jefferson County in recent weeks.
There is no foul play suspected in either death, but their bodies are ready to be released for burial and the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has not been able to locate relatives.
Robert Eugene Beavers Jr., a 60-year-old Black male, was found dead Aug. 27 at 830 Center Place West.
Birmingham police officers responded to the location to perform a welfare check called in by concerned neighbors who reportedly had not seen Beavers in weeks.
Officers and firefighters made entry into the home and found Beavers dead of natural causes.
Beavers had a past address listed in the 1500 block of 3rd Avenue North in Birmingham, and also possibly previously lived in Ohio and Oklahoma.

Vansandt was found dead in his nursing home room at Cherry Hill Healthcare Center on Jeff Germany Parkway in Birmingham. He died of natural causes.
Vansandt had a past address listed in the 5400 Block of Justice Street in Mulga.
