A teen girl was killed early Tuesday in a Shelby County crash.

Shelby County Coroner Lina Evans identified the fatality victim as Lauren Dunn. She was 17 and lived in Leeds.

The wreck happened at 12:30 a.m. on Dunnavant Valley Road, about eight miles west of Vandiver, according to Alabama State Troopers.

Senior Trooper Justin O’Neal said the teen was driving a 1999 Mercedes C280W that left the road and struck several trees. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
