Alabama opens as healthy favorite at LSU
A night game in Baton Rouge is always a test but Vegas isn’t doubting Alabama.
The Crimson Tide opened as two-score favorites when the lines opened Sunday on VegasInsider. The consensus line is 12.5 points, but Alabama’s favored by as many as 17 points at BetMGM. Caesars has the number at 14.5 points.
The game kicks off at 6 p.m. CT and will air on ESPN. Alabama is 5-3 against the spread this season.
Both teams are coming off open weeks with wins coming the previous Saturday.
LSU (6-2, 4-1 SEC) struggled in a 40-13 home loss to Tennessee on Oct. 8 before winning at Florida (45-35) and ending Ole Miss’ unbeaten run with a 45-20 win Oct. 22.
Alabama is 7-1 and 4-1 in the SEC with a 30-6 beating of then-No. 24 Mississippi State following the 52-49 loss at Tennessee.
The Crimson Tide is on a five-game winning streak in Baton Rouge with each coming at night. A 2020 trip to Tiger Stadium ended with a 55-17 Alabama blowout win en route to a national title. LSU’s last home win in the series came in 2010 in a 24-21 final.
