Man sought in overnight shooting death of Midfield mother of 2
Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a man wanted in connection with the shooting death of a woman in Midfield.
Koreyanta “Koko” Davis, 33, was found slain Saturday night on Henson Street.
Midfield police received a 911 call at 9:51 p.m. reporting a physical altercation in the 500 block of Henson Street, said Sgt. Michael Jeffries.
Shortly after arriving on the scene, officers found Davis lying near the edge of the street. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
“Koko was one of the most outgoing and caring people anyone could meet,’’ said Carlos Chaverst Jr., executive director of the Carlos Chaverst Foundation. “Koko always looked after others even while dealing with her own issues.”

“Everyone knew Koko and she was known to always make other people smile,’’ Chaverst said. “I know she’s smiling down on us now knowing she’s in a better place than this wicked world.”
The shooter fled the scene. No arrests have been made.
Jeffries said investigators are looking for a man who possibly goes by the name Eric.
Anyone with information is asked to call Jeffries at 205-745-3554 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
