74-year-old man killed, teen injured in two-vehicle crash in Montgomery County

A 74-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday evening in Montgomery County.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as Everett Knight Cole. He lived in Montgomery.

The wreck happened at 5:53 p.m. on East Old Hayneville Road, about 12 miles south of Montgomery, said Senior Trooper Kendra McKinney.

Everett Cole was a passenger in a Chevrolet Traverse driven by 72-year-old Alice Law Cole that struck a Chevy C1500 driven by a 17-year-old, McKinney said.

Everett Cole was not using a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The teen driver of the other vehicle also was not using a seat belt, McKinney said, and taken to the hospital with injuries.

The investigation is ongoing by troopers.
