Woman charged in killing of 66-year-old man during Montgomery robbery

A woman has been charged in the weekend shooting death of a 66-year-old man in Montgomery.

Jayln Greene, 24, is charged with two counts of capital murder in the Friday-night slaying Rickey Daniel.

Police and fire medics responded at 7:55 p.m. Friday to a report of a shooting in the 4200 block of Sussex Drive. Daniel was found wounded and pronounced dead on the scene.

Details surrounding the shooting have not yet been made public.

Police Maj. Saba Coleman said Daniel was killed during a robbery.

Central Alabama Crime Stoppers on Wednesday released photos of a woman in a convenience store to help identify her. Those photos were of Greene, who police said was quickly identified as a suspect.

Greene was taken into custody by Montgomery police Tuesday night and booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday.

She is being held without bond.
